- 2009 Veto Package (2009-R-0232).
"The governor vetoed the following Acts (18 public acts and two special acts)...
A vetoed act will not become law unless it is reconsidered and passed again by a two-thirds vote of each house of the General Assembly. The legislature is scheduled to meet for a veto session on July 20.
This report is in two sections: regular and June special sessions. It contains a brief summary of each act, the final vote tallies, and excerpts from the governor's veto messages."

PA 08-2 was recently passed and signed by the Governor. The act provides for additional foreclosure protections in connection with residential properties. Section 6 provides relief for tenants of foreclosed residential properties. Section 7 establishes minimum incentives to be offered to tenants to move from a foreclosed residential property. Section 8 amends the foreclosure mediation program. The act was effective upon passage - November 25, 2008.

The Office of Legislative Research also publishes summaries of new laws by topic, including education, environment, children and youth, health professions, veterans, municipalities, real estate, insurance, seniors, and business.
Beginning January 1, 2009, a new Connecticut Law (Public Act No. 08-147) allows parents to cover certain unmarried dependents up to age 26, under a parent’s individual or group health insurance plan. The new law has generated many inquiries. The Insurance Department is providing the following Questions and Answers containing the Department’s interpretation of the new law to assist health insurers and health care centers in complying with the new law.

The Connecticut Judicial Branch has posted a notice regarding Public Act 08-176, An Act Concerning Responsible Lending and Economic Security. Effective July 1, 2008, there will be a new foreclosure mediation program:
In order to qualify for this program, the borrower/homeowner must be an owner-occupant of a one-to-four family residential property. The property must be the homeowner’s primary residence and located in Connecticut. The lender must serve a Notice to Homeowner, JD-CV-94 and Foreclosure Mediation Request, JD-CV-93 form to the homeowner when it commences the foreclosure action. [Read the full text of the notice.]
The OLR bill analysis (summary) for Public Act 08-176 describes the many other provisions of the act, including changes to the Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program, new requirements for mortgage loans, and a private right of action for violations of the act's provisions. 5/27/2008

As a follow-up to this post, here is some more information on the notice (shown below) that has been posted on the statutes search page and the advanced search page on the Connecticut General Assembly’s website:
The Statutes Text Search database includes the 2007 General Statutes updated to January 1, 2008, by the inclusion of the 2008 Supplement to the General Statutes. The 2008 Supplement contains the codified Public Acts enacted in 2007. All sections published in the 2008 Supplement will be clearly identified in your search result.
Here’s an example of what you will see:

and this is the result.

You can also update the statutes by using the tables described in this post. According to the Legislative Commissioners' Office, a version of the 2008 Supplement that can be browsed online will be posted in March.
